Meet the experienced and friendly doctor and staff who make Bruce W. DeBeer, O.D. the leading provider of vision care products and services in Marshall.

Bruce DeBeer, OD

There is no substitute for a rigorous education and the exacting standards of professional training. Dr. DeBeer distinguished himself by committing to excellence throughout his academic study. He continues to invest his time in education courses for the latest knowledge available in optometry. And as his patient, you benefit from that excellence.

Dr. Bruce DeBeer earned his B.S. degree in microbiology from the University of Central Florida in 1974. He then graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class with his Doctorate degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 1978. He won the honor of being inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. He remained at the University of Houston for two more years as an assistant professor, teaching basic optometric skills and advanced contact lens fitting procedures. He is licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist by the Texas Optometry Board and passed the board exams from the National Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. DeBeer provides full scope primary eye care, treatment of eye diseases and co-management in cataract surgery and continues to invest in the latest state of the art equipment to better serve your needs.

Dr. DeBeer states, “My top priority and that of my staff is giving you one-on-one care for your vision, the most precious of all your senses — the kind of care that is hard to find elsewhere. I’ll treat you like a patient, a friend, a member of my own family, and not simply as a client.” He goes on to say, “When I think about the success I’ve enjoyed in my career and family life, I realize I’ve been given a great deal. I won’t believe I’ve done enough in return so long as it’s possible I have something more to contribute.”

When she started working for Dr. DeBeer in 1999, Angie already had many years of experience as an optician. Unlike many other opticians that Dr. DeBeer has met, Angie is a true expert in her field. She has a unique gift of being able to analyze your needs, your lifestyle, and your facial features in order to guide you to the perfect pair of glasses that will meet all of your needs.

Johnette has also worked as an optician for other doctors, but feels that her home is here in Marshall, sharing her experience with the patients of Dr. DeBeer. She enjoys the family atmosphere and is always a joy to work with. Her warm and caring personality will make you glad that you chose to visit Dr. DeBeer and Vision Source of Marshall.
